Ultrasound

At Global Mission Hospital, we offer advanced ultrasound services using top-quality equipment that produces high-definition images. We specialize in 3D and 4D ultrasound imaging, ensuring accurate and detailed assessments for both diagnostic and prenatal purposes.

Our ultrasound services include a variety of imaging techniques, such as 3D scans that display still images of your baby and 4D scans that capture moving images, providing a more dynamic view of the baby. These non-invasive procedures are safe, effective, and widely used for monitoring fetal development during pregnancy.

What is Ultrasound?

Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the inside of the body. It is commonly used to assess various conditions, such as breast lumps, thyroid issues, gallbladder disease, and soft tissues like muscles and tendons. The procedure is painless and non-invasive, making it a safe option for diagnosing a wide range of conditions.

Preparation for Ultrasound

Preparation may vary depending on the area being examined. If an abdominal ultrasound is needed, you may be asked to fast for 8 to 12 hours prior to the procedure. For examinations involving the gallbladder, liver, or pancreas, a fat-free meal the evening before the test may be required. For other areas of the body, you may be instructed to drink plenty of water to fill your bladder for a clearer image.

Ultrasound Procedure

During the ultrasound, a gel will be applied to the area being examined to help sound waves travel through the body. A handheld device called a transducer will be moved over the area to capture the sound waves, which will be converted into images that are displayed on a monitor. These images will then be analyzed by your doctor to make an accurate diagnosis.
